For early intervention programs

EI providers coach.Parents and caregivers carry out the activities.

Cove carries each visit's coaching into the family's week for the whole IFSP team, with routines-based guidance in English and Spanish and a clear view of how families are engaging.

The time between visits

A visit lasts an hour. Learning takes place throughout the rest of the week.

Strategies work best inside routines like mealtime and bath time. After a visit, families are left remembering what was modeled, wondering if they're on the right track, and saving questions for next time.

Cove keeps your providers' coaching within reach all week, and brings families' observations back to the next visit.

Built for how early intervention works

Cove strengthens the EI practices your program already believes in.

Caregiver capacity, beyond the visit

Families get clear guidance and short videos recorded by their provider, framed around routines they already have, so strategies are there when they need them.

A family-centered partnership

Families share what happened, what worked, and what they're wondering about, so every visit builds on an ongoing two-way dialogue.

Responsive to every family

Guidance in English or Spanish, built around each family's priorities, with every caregiver in the child's life invited in.

Insight that shapes the next visit

Providers see what's working before they arrive, so visits can focus on coaching and adjusting strategies.

Communication and coaching across the team

EI providers from different disciplines on the IFSP team can collaborate and coach the family between visits.

Aligned with early educators

If the child attends child care or another early care and education setting, early educators can stay in step with the strategies.

For your providers and families

Arrive knowing what the family wants to talk about.

Before each home visit, providers see which routines the family tried, what worked, and the questions they saved, so they can move straight to coaching on what the family is concerned or curious about.

Built on EI practice

Cove maps to the principles your program already follows.

These are the national key principles for early intervention. Here's how Cove supports each one.

Principle 1Learning through everyday experiences

Infants and toddlers learn best through everyday experiences and interactions with familiar people in familiar contexts.

Cove's guidance is built around routines families already have, like mealtime, bath time, and getting dressed. EI providers can individualize strategies to fit the unique routines, activities, and learning environments for each child and family.

Principle 2Every family can support their child's growth

All families, with the necessary supports and resources, can enhance their child's learning and development.

Cove gives every family and caregiver clear guidance between visits, including photos and videos, so families feel equipped and confident to implement.

Principle 3Providers work through the caregiver

The primary role of a service provider in early intervention is to work with and support family members and caregivers.

Cove is built around coaching the parents and other caregivers through guidance, videos, and check-ins that are designed for caregivers to carry forward between sessions.

Principle 4Individualized to each family

The EI process must be dynamic and individualized to reflect the child's and family's preferences and learning styles.

Cove allows providers to customize guidance for each family from a shared foundation, so support reflects that family's routines and activities rather than a one-size-fits-all program.

Principle 5Functional, family-identified outcomes

IFSP outcomes must be functional and based on children's and families' needs and family-identified priorities.

Cove lets providers write each child’s goals in the words of their IFSP outcomes and record progress at every visit, so what’s tracked reflects what matters to the family day-to-day.

Principle 6A supported primary provider

Families' priorities are best addressed by a primary provider who represents and receives team and community support.

Cove allows multiple providers on the IFSP to see each other's guidance and progress and add coaching comments, supporting a primary-provider/transdisciplinary teaming model, instead of providers working in isolation.

Principle 7Grounded in evidence and regulation

Intervention must be based on explicit principles, validated practices, best available research, and relevant laws and regulations.

Cove is built for HIPAA compliance, with a signed BAA for your program, and is shaped around team-based early intervention practice rather than a generic therapy model.

Built to protect every family's information.

HIPAA, FERPA, and Part C

Built to help early intervention providers meet FERPA and IDEA Part C confidentiality requirements, with a Business Associate Agreement signed with your program.

Questions

For EI programs.

Is there an app for families between EI visits?

Yes, that’s what Cove is for. Providers share activities built around the family’s routines, with short videos from the visit. Parents and other caregivers try them during the week, say how it went, and ask questions, and the provider sees it all before the next visit. The app is free for families on iPhone and Android, in English and Spanish.

How does Cove support routines-based, coaching-focused practice?

Activities are organized around a family's everyday routines, and providers coach through short videos and guidance families can return to. Families share what they tried, so each visit builds on real life at home.

Does Cove replace our data system or documentation?

No. Cove focuses on the time between visits and works alongside the systems you already use for IFSPs, documentation, and billing.

Do you sign a BAA?

Yes. Cove signs a Business Associate Agreement with your program. We're also glad to walk through how Cove fits your state's Part C confidentiality requirements, including the FERPA provisions they build on.

What do families need?

A smartphone and the free Cove app. Families can use it in English or Spanish, and can invite other caregivers.
